a lot of walking

buying christmas presents, countdown at esplanade, n today. not that i'm complaining :) not much, anyway.

met up with shi en, mei hui (+ eugene) and bernice today. It was a supposed 'birthday celebration' for all of us cos we missed one yr's worth of birthday celebrations for the few of us. went to the Central for lunch. Manhattan Fish! the food was good :D

then we went to Liang Court, then WALKED to orchard. shopped a lil, talked a lot. its been a while since we last talked so mch.

revisiting rock it

Went Kinderart to work for a few hrs today. Ikram, colleague from Rock It! came into the office too. (youthlife ownership n kinderart share the same office since both founded by the same boss) He hasn't done my CIP appraisal for the school yet, but since he's so nice, I'm not blaming him. I don't even mind redoing my 80 hours CIP if sch doesn't recognise my 80 w Rock It cos of late submission of appraisal.

anyway, Ikram is a father of two, a devout muslim, laidback man, repsonsible, n pretty funny.
We were talking abt his work with Youth Life Ownerhip..

Ikram: we still have two full time positions to fill from when cheryl and loren left us (they left in June)
Me: Oh haven't found anybody yet ah
Ikram: eh yeah..
Me: then how?
Ikram: it's still the 3 full time staff la.
Me: Oh really? Who?
Ikram: Me myself and I. (he then laughs madly...)

-.- He has said the exact same things to me at least 3 times from aug to now, everytime I ask him about youthlife ownership. and I fall for the same joke every single time. -.- GRRRR.

Me: Oh shit why do i fall for that joke every single time?!
Ikram: *continues laughing madly*

I swear the next time I will act cool and say I already know the joke.

sigh this reminds me of the Rock It days. imagine ikramx3, since the other two guys working w us were around that level of lame-ness, sometimes worse. though the work was tough n deprived me of sleep, i had loads of fun. :) will nv forget all those private jokes. papanet n the stupid cheer the rotarian edmund made up. :)

on a side note, we got fabulous feedback from the northland sec sch tcher. she asked ikram 'ay, what did you do to our students ah? they're so motivated now!'

we were just so busy putting the programme tgt and enduring the shit the rotarians threw at us that that we didn't get to interact w the stdents much, but it certainly feels gd to know all the work didn't go to nth. :D

why the need for title?!

I started blogging so as to update dear lanfang in beijing, but i think she's still as mia online as she was back in sg. but i've come to realise that its a good way to keep track of my days. in the hols its easy to lose track of what i did (or maybe its jus my horrible memory).

I slogged at Kinderart on tues ALONE. i was alone in the office, which meant i had to eat lunch alone. but the bak kut teh i ate more than made up for it. damn shiok!! bak kut teh from amoy food centre rocks. then i went for haircut. sry shehui you must be thinking there goes the empty promise for haircuts tgt again. but we were just dragging out feet over that n i really cdn't tahan my hair nemore.


wed was day out w the artist! went w her to draw at chinatown. we were just sitting at the street. i think we looked odd, but it was a gd experience anyhows. walked over to ann siang after that, and i finally stepped into books actually after hearing so much abt it. i love the feel of the place, but the books are overpriced. its a good place to just go in n immerse in the laid back feel, but nt great to get books from. last stop of the day was syjia's ballet concert w pear kai n renjie.




Thurs was supposed to be project day. for the CAT (computer as analysis tool) project, we still owe our client some stuff. the one we handed up to prof is just a part of the system we were supposed to do for the client, so now we've got to cont w it tho its the hols. -.- how exciting. grrr

but instead of staying the whole day to complete it, we decided to procrastinate. lingyi n i went off for movie n shopping. Yes Man was hilarious. the plot has no depth, but at least it is very funny. the sales are all on now! which is gd since i'll be shopping in abt an hr's time :D

My brother was the intended subject of this photo, but shermaine's cousin (also photographer of the above image) snatched the limelight. i like this photo cos it shows off my bro's legs. i think my bro's legs are damn toned. hahs.

I'm happily enjoying every single second of my holiday!! woohoo! been kept busy. haven't even gotten around to my korean drama yet. oh well.

holiday's a luxury. taking naps in the afternoon, meeting friends to craze arnd w. quality time w much loved ones.


cameron highlands was superb. pple like miao and chun n henry made me laugh so much! n besides the view, the air, n bridge(the game not the real thing), the next best thing was chatting w pear n kai in the bus :)


bugis-ing w adora and lujia and haji lane before that was fun :)


sat's picnic was a blast too. thanks to all who msg-ed me to say they had fun. Those words of thanks made all the planning n brain-craking worth it all. :)


the past few days shermaine's cousins (my sister in law's sister's children) stayed over. they are so so so noisy! but very fun. they're so entertaining. I played this shooting game w the boy. had to take cover behind sofas and doors. didn't know shooting fake bullets w an 8year old cld be so tiring! then the little pple challenged me to line-up-4. the line up 4 things in a row to win game. i suck at it. i lost to both my niece (7yrs old) and her cousin! (8 yrs old) grr.


there's a new oven in my home now. n my sis in law baked cookies this afternoon. yay to more baked stuff!


this hols is like one big fluffy cotton candy and i'm enjoying every bite of it. not that i particularly like cotton candy but its a nice image to refer to.


kinderart tomorrow. the graphic designer left the company alrd. no one to crap w me anymore! sigh.

A great ending to this long day. went to mout faber early in the morn to give out gospel packages to chinese tourists. (i woke at 7!!) it was gd to see the few gen12 pple that turned up :) we gave out 87 packs! which means there'll be abt 80 more bibles in china by the end of next week (assuming only abt 7 get left behind in hotels n tour buses)

then went to teach piano, and went sentosa for vball n frisbee. as usual, frisbee's loads of fun!! yay!

n finally, just abt an hour and a half ago, i saw a much much much missed friend :D

holiday

= spending $$$

so far have gone for two movies - madagascar w my niece and quarantine w pear. madagascar was hilarious, n quarantine was SCARY. this is the 3rd movie that made me scream. Sorry pear! haha.

eating out's taking a toil on my wallet too. Had carl's jr w pear yest. ever since i tried the guacemole burger recommended by kaising i've come to love it too. had that yest :)

Today's lunch was at Ramen Ten w the FTB gang. Ahkar Ellen and Dad! ate spicy mapo ramen. IT"S SUPER SPICY. grr. Then ate the fudgy chewy gooey brownie from brownie factory. It's my favourite brownie!! Dinner was at Crystal Jade w DABESTCLIQUE. woohoo!! ate zhu1 gan1 yu2 pian4 zhou1. It's gd. But the cakes we had after that was better :D Cartel cakes are HALF PRICE after 9pm! we ate 3 cakes, and each packet one home. haha. I'm looking forward to tmr's breakfast :)

Am gg to have to work part time back at Kinderart again to earn some money to finance all this spending.

looking forward to tmr's kbox w syjia tingen n pear. n fri's timbre w dabestclique again. They're really a rare clique. we can crap n talk abt stupid stuff n laugh at each other's silly acts n gossip n talk abt politics n obama all in the same night. didn't realise I missed xian's laughter so much till i heard it. lol.
